The Santa Cruz V10 was built to be just the right bike for all DH racers who want to get to the top. Every V10 rider benefits from the tenacious development work that the Syndicate puts into their race bikes.
The constant fine-tuning by the Syndicate in the Downhill World Cup guarantees Santa Cruz perfect feedback when developing the regular V10. The result is perhaps the best suspension available outside of the World Cup circuit. 215mm of the finest VPP spring travel, super easy to set up. And the well-known easy-to-maintain setup makes the V10 the favorite of all mechanics and all racers who still do the work themselves.
Proper wheel size was the final big puzzle in the Syndicate. Greg Minnaar, as the tallest rider on the team and always on the hunt for absolute high speed, continues to favor 29″ front and back. Luca Shaw, on the other hand, chooses what he enjoys, because when he’s having fun, he drives fast.
So he also relies on the impeller mix. And because there are so many tastes and needs, Santa Cruz offers the V10 in size S as a 27.5″ bike, in sizes M to XL as a 29er, and in a mix of wheels in sizes M and L. - 27.5 inches – the fun wheel size: 27.5 inches is the most versatile wheel size. It is suitable for all types of biking, except perhaps for XC racing, where the highest level of efficiency is expected. It is also suitable for drivers of almost any height. Naturally, however, it offers smaller riders in particular a little more space and freedom of movement over the rear wheel – especially on steep terrain or with a lot of suspension travel. The handling characteristics are best suited for riders who value agility and choose playful lines on the trail, for riders who like to be in the air, and who are looking for the most responsive and nimble bike. So if you’re looking for a wheel size that’s easy to maneuver on tight trails, if you like to take off and ride playfully, or if you’re on the small side, 27.
